Thursday 3rd March (Valley of the Giants)

Today we decided to do a full day of sightseeing and headed off towards the Chocolate Factory first.  There they give you samples of the beautiful chocolate and you can wander around the gardens that are there with plaques about the history of chocolate.  Very expensive with 100grams being $10.50, that works out to $105 per kilo.....yikes..

From the Chocolate Factory we headed west towards Elephant Rocks, and Greens Pool which are beaches on the Southern Ocean.  Went for a nice walk along the rocks and down to the beach and then we were off again heading to The Tree Top Walk.

Lunch on the way at a terrible looking roadhouse at a place called Bow Bridge. Joy was starving so we stopped and hoped for the best.  Much to our surprise the food was really good, much better than the roadhouse looked which was good for all of us.  Wayne was the only one to do the Tree Top Walk, Barry & I did it in 2005 and there was no way Joy was doing it, so we all went for a walk thru The Valley of the Giants, The Ancient Empire where there are huge Tingle Trees with the centres burnt out of them.

Last stop was at The Giant Tingle Tree which is only 7.5kms from Walpole.  Walked down the track and took a few photos before heading back towards the caravan park.

Barry did a small detour to have a look at Ocean Beach which is not that far from the caravan park and Barry & Wayne are both hopeful that it may be a good fishing beach.  Very nice views.
All in all a very pleasant day.
