Thursday 24th March (Kalbarri – Yalgoo)

We are lucky to have a beautiful morning to hit the road once again and be away from Kalbarri for Easter.  It is apparently booked out for Easter so we are more than happy to head inland where we are hoping it will be much quieter.  Calling into Geraldton to do a spot of shopping and then on the road towards Yalgoo.  What a horrible experience fighting for a parking spot and queuing in the supermarket the day before Easter. We have been told that there is a nice clean little caravan park at Yalgoo and if we want we can have a look at the Museum by getting the key from the Manager of the park.  We have decided to stop at Mullewa for a swim at the local pool as it is very hot.  Finding local pools along the way has been magnificent, they are usually Olympic sized pools and the cost is always under $2 for a nice refreshing swim….bargain.  Yalgoo has turned out to be a nice little Oasis in the middle of the outback with heaps of History and interesting buildings around the place, we decided not to cook dinner tonight and instead head up to the Yalgoo Pub for a counter tea.  Good value and a very strange dinner for me, a Chicken Snitzel on a bed of tomato & onion spaghetti.!!!  Took the spaghetti home in a container and Barry can finish that off tomorrow. Barry’s dinner was a mixed grill which he was unable to finish so terrific value.  Thunder & lightening in the sky as we walked back to the caravan.
