Thursday 10th March (Trigwell Bridge - York)
This morning had Wayne up and about at 6.00am taking very nice sunrise photos. Our camp was very, very quiet with probably 6 cars passing us for the entire time we have been here. Today we are traveling through Arthur River, Wagin, Narrogin, Pingelly, Brookton, Beverley and finally arriving at York for the night. Approx 290kms so a pretty quiet day. There appears to have been a storm pass throught his area a while back as there are a lot of very big trees blown over and you can see by the road that there has been flooding. Have managed to find an Olympic size swimming pool at Pingelly where we stopped and had a nice swim. Again we were the only ones there and it cost $1.00. It is close to 40 degrees so it was very refreshing. Our camp for tonight is behind the shops beside the park at York. There is free power and it is also very quiet. Our night was the best we have had so far on the holiday. We met another 2 couples camping here and it turned out to be the funniest, and most enjoyable time. We all sat on our chairs on the lawn outside our caravan and had Pizzas and sausages for dinner. There were Kathy & Joey who are traveling around with a tent on the top of their car, Alison & Dan who have a New Age Bilby and the 4 of us. Dan told a story about falling down a waterfull that had us in stitches, the story was true but the way he told it was absolutely hilarious, and then Joey did a take off of Michael Jackson dancing, while Dan then did a dance to Yothu Yindi. My face was hurting as I haven't laughed that much in, I don't know when........ Us 4 oldies manged to hit the sack at 10.30 which is very late for us and the "youngens" kicked on, at one stage cooking on the BBQ. Wayne drank 2 bottles of wine so he was very relaxed and pretty funny as well. Really, really memorable.
