Finished all our veggies and fruit with a lovely 2 course
dinner in our caravan last night with Joy & Wayne. Poached bananas and a peach in butter &
honey with cream for sweets…..yummy. On the road and 10kms from the border with
nothing to declare so will probably take the picture of the caravans near the
SA/WA sign for the blog and journey on. Just scratched another of my birthday
scratchies that I got from Stuart and Sue but unfortunately no win on that
one. I am sure there is a winner in
there somewhere just have to be patient and keep trying. Topped up with fuel at
Eucla and now heading towards Madura Pass where we will stop for our lunch
break and take a few photos. Today our
bodies have no idea what time it is. We
have gained a few hours crossing the border and lunch is at 10.30 by our WA
time but much later by our SA time, I am sure it will all work out in the
end. We have just passed 2 magnificent
eagles feeding on road kill on the side of the road. One of them took over not 30 metres in front
of our car and the other just stayed there and watched us pass. Unfortunately I didn’t have the camera ready
so I have now rectified that little problem. I just adore the eagles, they are
magnificent. Not too sure where our camp will be tonight but certain it will be
a good one tucked away from traffic and noise. Cocklebiddy is our ice cream
stop for today as it is 35 degrees outside and an ice cream sounds like just
the thing. Barry is embellishing the
Caiguna Blowhole to Wayne as we travel and I think Wayne is going to be a bit
disappointed when we eventually get there….funny. Joy & I paid $5 and had
the best showers at Caiguna, our water in the caravans is getting a little low
now so we have to be very careful and besides we had a whole 15 minutes for the
money so couldn’t complain about that, even fresh water not bore, and was every
bit as good as a swim. The highlight at the Blowhole was seeing a brown snake
sunning itself at the bottom of the hole, glad he was a long way away from
where we were standing. We have pulled into a camp spot called “Baxter” and are
tucked right at the back and have a terrific spot. A good day today and not too
many kilometres, so now relaxing with a scotch, doesn’t get too much better
than that.
