Stinker of a night with it being so hot, luckily with our
inverter we were able to have our fan on for most of the night to try to keep a
little cooler. Left our camp and just
2kms further along the road was the start of the bushfire devastation. It was only a few kilometres more and there
were crosses on the side of the road indicating where a farmer and 2 German
backpackers were killed by the fires, so sad. Sadly the burnt out countryside goes on for
quite a few kilometres and there were a couple of burnt out homes that we
saw. Once again no luck with my birthday
scratchies, decided to scratch the big one, $200k, today but didn’t manage a
thing. There are only 2 small ones left,
$10k, so fingers crossed, I would be more than happy with that. Have arrived at Esperance and staying at Pink
Lake Tourist Park for 3 nights at least so we can have a good look around. Plan on going down to Cape Le Grand for a day
trip and the boys are hoping to catch some fish while there. Today was a real
catch up day with washing, cleaning and re stocking the caravan. All up to date now .
Have been amused this afternoon with a couple of "clowns" trying to move a permanent caravan across from where we are camped.
Fire devastation
Have been amused this afternoon with a couple of "clowns" trying to move a permanent caravan across from where we are camped.
First it fell off the tow bar
Then the motor was screaming
Lastly the back tire was bogged and the back corner of the trailer smashed into the caravan. It is currently sitting there until Monday when they have "Plan B", not sure what that is.
