We were woken early this morning to rain, I think it started
around 4.00am. There has been no rain
here for so long and we arrive and guess what…..rain. Not cold but a steady
rain is now falling, so our day may be a little damp……Still raining and it
looks like it is set in, so much for Barry’s prediction of “here by 7.00, gone
by 11.00” yeah right!!!!! Not that
pleasant for us but the farmers must be loving it, so I am pleased for them at
least. Relaxed start to the day heading
off around 9.00am towards St.Arnaud and then Rupanyup and Brim where we plan to
stay tonight. There is a lot of water on
the road so we are all taking it very easy.
Listening to “Macca” on the radio which we love to do on a Sunday
morning when we are traveling. Rain got
so heavy that we decided to stop and pull off the road for a counter lunch at
The Rupanyup Pub. Absolutely pouring at
the moment with lots of water running off the pub as the spouting is not
coping. 2.30pm and the sun is now
shining and the rain has stopped.
Anthony, Stuart’s nephew is taking us for a tour around the “sights” of
Rupanyup, and then it is on to the Museum which Barry said is absolutely
fantastic. Maree & Paul have continued
on towards Warracknabeal where they plan to refuel and wait for us to catch
up. Camp spot for tonight is at Brim
beside the lake, we stopped to take photos of the magnificent job done in
painting murals on the 4 huge silos here at Brim. This little town has become quite the tourist
destination with lots of caravaners and tourists stopping to have a look at the
artwork, very impressive. A very nice Happy Hours once again with all the gang
and at 8.15pm we are all tucked up in our vans for the night. Really lovely spot here beside the lake with
hot showers and very clean toilets and all for a $10 donation.
Absolutely Pouring
Camp beside the lake at Brim, great camp.
Silos at Brim with the Murals. Spectacular
