Bacon & eggs for brekkie and then it is 30kms up to
Nundroo where I plan to pay for a shower and wash my hair. We have woken up to a stunning morning after a
lovely quiet night. The stars out here
are beyond explanation, you can nearly touch them and there appears to be many
more than when you look in the skies at home.
Have decided to call our camp last night Champagne 66, I turned 66 and
Joy & I drank a bottle of Champagne so makes perfect sense to me. Refuelled at Nundroo and paid $2 for a nice
hot shower which saves our water and enabled me to wash my hair. Quite warm now and the wind is picking up a
bit. We were going to camp tonight at
Bunda Cliffs but it is not pleasant with the wind blowing and no protection so
we are going to the 10K peg camp which is 10 kms to the East of Border Village
so we can finish all our fruit and veggies before crossing. Stopped for a photo
op at The Head of the Bight and although there are no Whales until May it is
still a beautiful sight looking along the rugged coastline. 28 degrees at 4.00pm and nearly at our camp
for the night, terrific day. Camp spot has turned out to be really good, lots of protection from the wind and way off the highway so all good.
Morning Tea stop at a camp spot where we stayed with Maree & Paul and Mum & Dad back in 2005. This is the camp where we walked over the road and watched a road train come along the highway miles away.
(The long drop toilet is still there !!!!!!!!)
